Under the orders of interim President Roberto Micheletti, armed troops have also surrounded the building. After three months in exile, Zelaya made a surpise return to Honduras earlier this week. Meanwhile, Micheletti has expressed a willingness to negotiate, on the condition that Zelaya first recognises Presidential elections scheduled for this November. The international community has largely condemned the coup, which Micheletti calls a ‘constitutional succession’. Full story and features on the BBC website.
